27.2. Managing Guide Availability
Once you have entered a guide into the person database, you can start managing their scheduling availability. You can set when they are going to start the season, end the season, as well as, enter any off time or vacations the guide may take during the season. All of these things will help Arctic manage your guide availability for scheduling purposes. Arctic will keep track of each of these dates and let you know when a guide is available to work and when they have conflicts.
To manage a guide's availability, go to the guide's "View Person" page and choose the "Schedule" tab.
Here is where you can enter when a guide is first available for scheduling for the season, the last day they will work for the season and when they are unavailable for time off or vacation. The "Start Date" and "End Date" options are great for seasonal guides who only work with you for a few months each season. The "Unavailable" option is great for all guides to ensure you know when they have a vacation or scheduling conflict and will unavailable for scheduling.
Once the dates are entered you will be able to see a guide's availability at a glance as well as any trips the guide is currently scheduled on. The schedule tab will show the next 50 scheduling entries, including details from the last few weeks.
