33.5. Printing Barcodes
Barcodes can be printed one at at a time (as a single barcode) or many barcodes at once.
To print barcodes, go to the "View Retail Item" and click the "Actions" button next to the UPC variation that you want to print labels for. In the menu that appears, click the "Barcode Labels" button.
On the form that appears, select your label style (Arctic will remember the previously selected style for convenience). Note: if your label style is not available, contact support and we can try to add support for it.
The system will allow you to specify the start point for a sheet of labels. This means that if some labels on the sheet are used, you can skip them and print from where the labels start maximizing the usage of label paper. For instance, if you need one barcode for a water bottle you can print it on label #1. Then two bar codes are needed for chocolate, you can print from #2 and Arctic will place the second one on label #3. Then a week later you need 5 barcodes for cookies, you start it at #4 and Arctic will roll through #9.
Just specify where you want Arctic to start at, and how many barcodes are needed and Arctic will do the rest. Click the little "?" circle and Arctic will give you some helpful hints at figuring out what label number is where on the sheet.
By default, Arctic will fill the page with the specified barcode. If you want a specific number, enter a quantity.
Press submit, and a PDF document of barcodes and label text will open and be readily sized for your label style.
Important: When printing, be sure that your printer is configured to not adjust margins. This should be the default mode, but some printers or computers try to scale or size the labels to fit on the page. This will cause them to overlap with the actual labels. Consult your operating system documentation on how to disable auto scaling or auto sizing.
Barcodes For Purchase Orders
In order to help label full shipments, Arctic can generate barcode labels for all items in a purchase order in one step.
Once a purchase order has been accepted, you will have the option to print barcode labels from the purchase order details page. Just click the "Barcode Labels" button on the right hand side, and select the label style and barcode starting position. Arctic will then generate barcodes for each item and quantity represented on the purchase order.
