20.3. Add a Promo Code to a Booking Link

Arctic offers you the ability to customize a booking link or landing page such that it will cause a promotional code to automatically be applied to any activity subsequently booked (assuming that the activity qualifies for the associated discount). For instance, if you are running a promotion for a specific trip, you can include the codeine the link such that guests will automatically receive the code without having to manually type it during checkout. This is really handy for tailoring booking links for your promotional mailers.

To create a promo code booking link you must first create the promo code. (For more information on how to create a promo code, see the section on automated discounts.) Once the code is created you can then apply it to the applicable booking links by following the directions below.

First, you will need the promo code that you created. To get the promo code, go to the "Settings" page under "Invoicing" and click the "Pencil" icon next to "Manage Item Templates".

On the "Browse Item Templates" page, find the promo code you want to use for the promo code booking link and note the code.

Now that you know what the code is, you can create the discount portion of the link by combining ?dc= and the promotional code. For instance if the code is "NB21", the relevant discount link will be ?dc=NB21. (Note that there should be no spaces.)

You can append the above code to the end of any online landing page link. Arctic will then store the discount code and attempt to automatically apply it at checkout. Again, be sure you do not add any spaces between the code and the end of your booking link.

So if your booking link is:

https://reservations.mycompany.com/reserve/tt1-rio-grand-float

After you add the discount code it will be:

https://reservations.mycompany.com/reserve/tt1-rio-grand-float?dc=NB21
