30.17. Conversion Tracking

In addition to general tracking via Google Analytics, you can also run more specific conversion tracking code that is injected into the "checkout complete" page. This can run arbitrary code, useful for AdWords and other ad related conversion tracking.

To install conversion tracking codes for either guest-facing site implementation follow the below steps:

  • Open the "Settings" page and look for the "Guest-Facing Sites" section.
  • Click the pencil next to "Manage Guest-Facing Sites."
  • Next to the guest-facing site you want to manage, click the "Settings" button.
  • In the window that opens, you will see an option to enter or modifying the "Checkout Tracking" code. This HTML and/or JavaScript (in a <script> tag) is injected into the bottom of the checkout complete page.

Basic transaction information can be added using the "placeholder" list below the "Checkout Tracking" field. Use the placeholder list to select the appropriate transaction field, and Arctic will insert a piece of code where the cursor last was in the "Checkout Tracking" box. When the checkout tracking code is displayed following the completion of an order, the placeholder will be replaced with the appropriate piece of information.

Tips

  • If the conversion tracking code has two parts both pieces should still be installed in the "Checkout Tracking" box shown above.
