22.7. Not Settled vs Settled Transactions

For payment methods where you have enabled batched settlement, you will see invoice transactions labeled as "Not Settled" or "Settled."

Some payment gateways automatically provide batch settlement information to Arctic Reservations, and it will update the transactions to correctly indicate when they were settled. For some gateways and for manual (cash/check) transactions, the transactions must still manually be marked as settled.

There are two options for handling manual reconillation in Arctic Reservations:

* You can manually record batches (using the "Record Deposit" option in the "Invoices" menu). If you head to that page, Arctic will try to guess which transactions were batched and deposited together. You can confirm or modify the list of transactions, then enter a deposit date.

* Or if you are not concerned about transaction reconciliation, you can disable batched settlement for all or certain transactions.

To enable or disable batched settlement for credit card transactions (it is ON by default), go to the Settings page and open the Credit Card section. Look for the question "Batch Credit Card Transactions." If you turn that off, all future transactions will assume to be batched on the same day and you will no longer need to use the record deposit feature described above. If turned on, all future credit card transactions will be listed on the deposit feature described above so that you can tell Arctic when the transactions were deposited.

To enable or disable batched settlement for manual transactions (it is OFF by default), go to the Settings page and open the Invoice section. Look for the question "Batch Manual Transactions." If turned off, all future manual transactions will assume to be batched on the same day and you will no longer see them on the record deposit page described above. If turned on, all future manual transactions will be listed on the deposit feature described above so that you can tell Arctic when the transactions were deposited.
