12.4. Navigating the Browse Tasks Page

In addition to going to the "Browse Tasks" page to create new general tasks, this will be where you will go to manage all of the current tasks and to view all of the completed tasks in the system.

By default the "Browse Tasks" page shows all of the incomplete tasks in the system that are specifically assigned to you or are assigned to "No One". This is a great place to see all of the upcoming tasks for yourself and that are assigned globally as shown here:

The task information is displayed in the following columns:

Notes: The "Notes" column is where the "Task Description" is displayed along with any additional notes or details that have been added to the task.

Trip: The "Trip" column will show the trip the task is associated with, if it is associated with a trip. If the task is not associated with a trip, then this column will be blank.

Created On: The "Created On" column shows the date the task was created or in the case of Trip Tasks generated by Arctic into the system. Remember, Trip Tasks are automatically generated by Arctic 14 days prior to their Due Date.

Due On: The "Due On" column shows the date the task should be completed by.

Actions: In the "Actions" column you will see the following icons that will allow you to do the following with each task:

This is the "Mark as Completed" button, which appears next to incomplete tasks. If you click this icon, this will change the status of the task from incomplete to complete.

This is the "Mask as Incomplete" button, which appears next to completed tasks. This icon appears, when you click the "Mark as Completed" icon on the "Browse Tasks" page and indicates that the task status is complete. Until you navigate away from the page, you can click this icon again to change the task status back to incomplete.

This is the "View Details" icon. Click this icon to get to the "View Task" page, where you can see all of the details for the task as well as edit or delete the task.

This is the "Edit" icon. This icon will take you to the "Edit Task" page, where you can add additional information to the task description, change the task's assignment, due date or trip association.

This is the "Delete" icon. This icon will allow you to delete the task.

All of the "Actions Icons" are intended to give you quick access to the actions that will help you manage your tasks quickly and efficiently.

At the top of the "Browse Tasks" page, you will find the "Filter" button.

Using the "Filter" button, you can filter the tasks based on assignment, business group, due dates, creation dates, completion dates, trips, etc. You can also set up custom views to add or remove columns from the results displayed.

Also notice the "Export" button shown here:

The "Export" button allows you to export the information displayed on the "Browse Tasks" page to either a CSV, Excel 2007, Excel, PDF, or HTML file for use in other programs or databases.

All of the options found on the "Browse Tasks" page, from the filters and action icons to the export feature work together to allow you to find and manage your tasks ensuring the small details of your business are covered and nothing slips through the cracks.

This concludes the Task Feature Guide, if you have more questions or need further assistance please contact support.
