32.3. Posting Trip Photos

Once a trip ends (if the Social Site is available after a trip) or after a few guests have reserved (if the Social Site is available at the time of reservation), we recommend adding some initial photos for guests to see and to get them engaged in the guest-facing site. There are two ways to post photos to the guest-facing site:

Guides Post Content (recommended)

The best option is to have guides post photos, videos and messages to get the conversation started.  If this Social Site is set up for after the trip ends, guests will see the familiar face and message, and it will draw them into the guest-facing site. Any guide scheduled on the trip will have access to the guest-facing site. If the Social Site is set up to be available at the time of reservation, having a guide who is scheduled on the trip is still a good idea because it will acquaint your guests with at least one of your staff who will accompany them on their adventure.

Note: We recommended giving the guides accounts, so that they are not dependent on personalized links to login to the guest-facing site.

1. Guides can log in to the guest-facing site using their account, or their personalized link.

2. Once logged in, the guide can post photos using the standardize method describe below.

Post Content as an Arctic User

If the guides are not available, or if you want to just upload photos as a backend Arctic user, simply head to the trip details page for the trip of interest. Click the "Add Photos" button on the trip details page.

The "Add Photos" button will take you to the guest-facing site and keep you logged in as the same person. As an Arctic user, you will have access to post to any trip you can see in the backend.

Content Upload Process

Both guests and Arctic users use the same photo and video upload process, described below:

1. Go to the "social site" page (accessible via the "Photos" button in the toolbar).

2. Next to "+ Post," click "Photos" or "Videos".

3. Use the "Select Files" button to select either images or videos to upload. Or drag and drop the images or videos into the upload area.

4. Ensure that the right trip is selected, as it determines what guests see the photos and receive notifications regarding the upload.

Note: Guests with only one reservation will automatically have the appropriate Trip selected as there will only be one option. For guests with multiple reservations, they will need to be sure they are selecting the correct Trip as well.
